After this I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands. And they cried out in a loud voice:

“Salvation belongs to our God,

who sits on the throne,

and to the Lamb.”

Revelation 7:9-10 (NIV)

This is what I envision when we are all worshipping the Lord together during the CHN Getaway evening worship services. I know we are not in Heaven just yet - but as I worship with, and listen to, the missionaries and CHN Staff and Volunteers from all different walks of life and so many different countries and cultures worship in one accord, I cannot help but think of what a glorious time it will be when we will worship the Lord face to face! Worship is no small thing and the Lord assures us that He inhabits the praises of His people (Ps. 22:3).

What I didn’t expect was the missionaries enthusiasm to worship as one in English! Even though there were several there whose first language was not English, they all knew the language and were so excited about the opportunity to worship together in a common language and with songs that they knew from their past and from current worship music - which several told me they listen to streaming on the internet! “But there is nothing like this,” one ‘soldier’ from Columbia, said. “Having the opportunity to worship together with the body of Christ in our native language was just awesome!” The worship team heard this over and over again at every get-a-way.

It is with great joy and anticipation that I get to spend time listening to the heart of God and listening to praise and worship music to prayerfully prepare for our evening worship time at the Getaways. It has been a delight to see the Lord give a theme or a message in song for His people!

"Worship the LORD in the splendor of his holiness; tremble before him, all the earth." Psalm 96:9
